Community gardens in Paris and Berlin emerged around the turn of the millennium and their number has grown steadily since then. Although the two capitals are very different in terms of their history, development and structure, they have a lot in common. The exchange organised by Graine de Jardins and the Centre Français de Berlin in 2022 aimed to shed light on the opportunities and difficulties faced by community gardens. The project brought together members from Parisian and Berlin gardens for four days in each city. The visits were accompanied on film by documentary filmmaker and ethnologist Violeta Ramirez.
